We are seeking actors, narrators, and technical artists for a powerful and timely stage adaptation of On Tyranny: Twenty Lessons from the Twentieth Century by Timothy Snyder.

This performance will explore Snyder’s 20 essays—each a chilling, galvanizing call to recognize and resist authoritarianism. From “Defend Institutions” to “Be Calm When the Unthinkable Arrives,” we will bring these lessons to life through a hybrid of monologue, multimedia, movement, and sound.

     What we're looking for:

Actors and Readers of all experience levels, all genders, and all ages to embody and deliver individual lessons with emotional intelligence, clarity, and courage.

Technical Crew (at least 3 to 4 needed): Lighting, sound, multimedia support, & a stage manager for a dynamic, minimalist set that echoes the urgency and stark beauty of truth telling.

Performers should be drawn to civic engagement, historical reflection, and the raw emotional charge of ensemble storytelling.

     Auditions Include:

          Cold readings from selected essays.

On Tyranny has been praised as a "manual for survival," and this production is a call to remember that democracy is not self-sustaining ---- it's something we perform, protect, and renew. Join us in creating a piece that challenges, moves, and inspires.

Audition Date & Time:  Monday, August 25, 7-10pm

     Show Dates: 10/17, 10/18, & 10/19

     Directed by:  Emily Bartlett

Location:  Limelight Stage, 4908 NW 34th Blvd., Suite 11, Gainesville, FL 32605
